Tournament related poker vocabularyThe most frequently used words: Add on: Permission to buy extra poker chips, you have for instance twice as many as most other players from the very start. Buy-in: The costs to enter a tournament. This is normally written as $X + $Y or $X/$Y where X is the buy-in and Y is the fee which the organizer of the tournament receives. Freeroll: This is a tournament where you can join in and play about real money without paying a cent yourself. This is being used by the gambling companies both as marketing methods and a way to encourage faithful players. Freezeout: This means you are knocked out of the game when you have run out of chips and there is no possibility to make a re-buy. Multi Table Tournament: This is a common kind of tournament with participants ranging from normally about a few hundred up to a few thousand but there is no set number. Qualifier: See satellite. Re-buy: Permission to buy new chips is allowed if you are knocked out of the tournament. There is usually a time limit. Satellite: This is a tournament with a low buy-in and here you can win a seat at a bigger tournament and in this way get the buy-in for this without costs. Sit & Go Tournament: This is a tournament with a fewer number of players, normally between 5 and 30. As the name indicates this often means you only have to sit down at a table and wait for the tournament to start. Is anything missing here?
