Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu, also known as "Kid Poker," is currently moving into Day 3 at the World Series of Poker after having featured in the top 20 players. He goes into day 3 with $27,900 to his name, which just happens to be one of the most well known ones in the poker world. Negreanu has a unique way of approaching major poker tournaments which includes watching all five Rocky movies before a tourney and eating vegan meals prepared by his mother.

Daniel Negreanu, aged 35 years old and no longer a kid, first began to play poker when he was 15 years old; he went on to win his first WSOP championship at age 23 and became the youngest poker player with a WSOP bracelet in the world!

Today, Negreanu has four WSOP bracelets to his name beginning with his first win in the year 1998 when he took home $169,460 for winning the $2,000 Pot Limit Hold'em. His second win came in the year 2003 when he won $100,440 in an S.H.O.E event; this was quickly followed by a Limit Hold'em win of $169,100, the next year. Negreanu also went on to win the 2008 Limit Hold'em event where he walked out with $204,874.

It remains to be seen whether future WSOP events will prove to be anothre lucky strike for this great poker player. He also has two WPT titles both earned in 2004.

In addition to being a world renowned poker player, Daniel Negreanu is known for his philanthropic efforts. Daniel has been involved in many charity events like "Ante Up for Africa," which was a Darfur aid program and the "Big Swing" event which sought to fund the Lili Claire Foundation for children with special needs.

Daniel Negreanu, a Canadian poker professional has more than $14,100,000 to his name and has played at over thirty final event tables. He is a reputed columnist and has written a book called Power Hold'em Strategy.

Negreanu has also won several awards and accolades like the 2004 WSOP player of the year, ESPN Player of The Year, CardPlayer Magazine's Best Player in The World and the 2005 WPT player of the year. Negreanu once acted as Poker Ambassador for the Wynn Las Vegas resort for a period of time, until he quit and opened his own card room called Full Contact Poker.

There are also rumors that Negreanu had tutored "Spiderman" Tobey Maguire for an extraordinary amount of money. Negreanu also featured in a video game called "Stacked with Daniel Negreanu."

Currently residing in Las Vegas, Daniel Negreanu has a friendly and pleasant demeanor and is known to be one of the nicest players at a poker table. Negreanu is also known for his strong views on poker ethics as is evident from his recent opposition to poker players wearing sunglasses at the tables.
